Description: What does it mean to be a man? Culture has all sorts of answers, but how ought Christians answer that question? We'll look for answers by exploring the lives and writings of Christian men throughout history. We'll see what men like Augustine of Hippo, Frederick Douglass, Dietrich Bonhoeffer, Dallas Willard, and others teach men about living as God intended. Each week, we will read a short bio of the “man of the hour” and an excerpt of his writing. Then on Sundays, we will discuss what we learn about contemporary masculinity from those who have gone before us. Together, we’ll work to construct a vision of masculinity that embodies Christ and honors our creator. Although the group is primarily intended for men, women can also participate.
